Suzy is beginning to "read". She's starting to tell the stories about the photos. One of her favorite books is her baby book. In hopes of having it survive until she has her own babies, God willing, I am making her a few of her very own books. I found some great blank board books that I'm going to try and modge podge these images onto. I'll let you know how it turns out. My plan if this works is to make a few more for Christmas and a few for Andy as well.

This book is about what Suzy can do. I plan to do others about emotions, family, places, etc. The lollipop and me photos are the front and back covers. I'll keep you posted on the progress!

Momtography session One

After reading blogs and hearing Mom photographers say it's so hard to get photos of their own kids, I decided to invite some of my favorite "pros" over to my house to just have fun and take photos of our own kids. No expectations. No big favors. No rules. Just fun. Today, Carolyn Coffey from ACC came to play with us. We had a BLAST. We started out with just letting the boys play with toilet paper. Then we added a big tub and just had fun. Carolyn brought all kinds of fun props and her "vision" was to have a spaghetti fest. So, we cooked some up and simply had a blast. We each just took photos of our own kids. Enjoy!

Suzy wanted her picture taken, too. But what she REALLY wanted was one of these great lollipops that I had in my prop stash. I just love this girl in blue.

A Day for Rejoicing

I got a phone call at work from my sweet Suzy asking if I could take her on a Daddy-Daughter date to Red Robin. I just could not pass up having this time with my little girl. After lovely dinner items like coloring, word find, and scintillating conversation over burger and mac n' cheese we head home. This leads to the normal bed time routine. This month Suzy is all about Daddy doing bath time, stories, and songs and prayers.

During prayers Suzy reminded me that we needed to pray for Ms. Terry, our neighbor across the street who was taken to the hospital today, she asked if we needed to pray for Britney. I told her no, we don't need to pray for Britney anymore since he is in heaven with Jesus. And Jesus is taking care of her. I was asked by Suzy if that was silly of Jesus to take care of Britney, and I told her no. I asked Suzy what she thought it was; she told me it was very nice of Jesus to take care of Britney. Wholeheartedly, I agreed.

So we moved on to her songs after finishing up with prayers. She gets to pick out three songs to have, two with the light on, and one with the light off. She can pick any song Daddy knows, but regardless of my encouragement, the songs wind up being Jesus and the Row, and the Twink. So almost nightly I sing Row, Row your Boat, Jesus Loves Me, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. The way out the door, after songs I usually get a whole host of different questions. Tonight was very different: "Daddy do you have God in your heart?" I responded "Yes, I have God in my heart". I get the follow up question of: "Daddy, do I have God in my heart?" I tell Suzy that in order to have God in your heart you need to have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. She tells me that she wants to have Jesus as her "umm what was it, oh yeah, my Lord and Savior". So we pray together: "Dear Jesus, Please be my Lord and Savior and help me to be your disciple more everyday and to help me follow in your footsteps."

My sweet little girl will be joining us in heaven! She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
