Easy Lunch Boxes

My friend, Cynthia shared this and then some others from my church shared as well.

Easylunchboxes.com even has a blog with photos of lunches that people have submitted to get your creative juices going....

There are several containers out there for lunches that are pretty cool. I'm going to try these and see what I think. They are pretty cheap, BPA free, dishwasher safe, and small enough to fit easily in Suzy's bag. With my picky eater, I don't see school lunches in our near future.... ;) Plus, hopefully this will be cheaper and healthier for Rob as well, since we are still on that big ol' diet. Congrats, Sweet Rob, for being down over 15 pounds! I'm proud of you! I can't believe you've offered up a new camera if I forgo the cruise in 6 pounds..... how will I ever decide????

Award Winning Photographer

Do you read Live Mom? It's a fabulous Austin resource for things happening. Plus, they have fun contests every once in a while. I've never won anything on the internet, but I did this month! Not only did I win a photo book and free disposable camera, but a photo of my sweet Suzy taken with said camera won me $100! Rob says I am no longer an amateur hobbiest but rather an award winning photographer. Ha! I admit it was hard to take a photo with a disposable camera when I'm so used to my nice digital and the immediate feedback and control. :)

There were several cute entries and I was surprised that I won. Thanks, LiveMom!

Great Wolf Lodge with Grandma Linda

My mom was in Oklahoma visiting my sister and her boys and we were able to meet her at Suzy's favorite place, The Great Wolf Lodge, in Dallas. It was a short visit, but a lot of fun. Mom brought TJ and Jimmy with her so the cousins were able to spend some time together. She also brought these cute little sticker pages. They were a big hit. Thanks, Mom, for making the trip down to see us and splurging on a kid resort.

One of Andy's favorite stories. A birthday present from Grandma Linda.
Another favorite book. He wanted to sleep with Grandma.

Jimmy discovered the joys of the iPhone.
Andy is officially easier to travel with now. We are no longer a pack n play family. Woohoo!
Both children really enjoyed the treasure hunting with the MagiQuest. They didn't really "get it" (and I must admit I didn't either). But, they enjoyed waving the wand and having things happen.

Thanks again, Grandma Linda, for a great night at the Great Wolf! Suzy is still talking about it.

In Rememberance

Exactly one year ago, the first baby I ever loved ran into Jesus's arms. I had hoped of scanning some photos from my old photo books and making a cool slide show. But, I'm a mom with two small children. It isn't going to happen.

But that doesn't mean that I don't miss this sweet child every day. Especially today. I have comments for each of these photos. Maybe someday I will be able to articulate them. But today, this is the sweet Britany that I remember.

Catching Up

I've had lots of photos to blog and my organization is a mess for photos right now. I'm hoping to clean things up this weekend. Until then, here are a few more photos from July. I still need to do our trip to Great Wolf Lodge, but should be caught up after that. Yeah! Here we are on our way home from Oklahoma. We stopped to see Aunt Mary and Uncle Ed. Aunt Mary has the best garden and likes to give my kids treats. We love to stop there!

Suzy needed a "bandand". She was a little confused that it didn't have characters on it.
Andy gave me a flower that Suzy picked and enjoyed wearing my sunglasses.
Aunt Mary and Uncle Ed have a super nice park in their neighborhood.

Plus Aunt Mary made Kool-Aid. I confess, Suzy is almost five.... it was the first time she had red Kool-Aid. I have since broken down and there are some singles packets in my pantry. I think she had Kool-Aid one other time with our friends Ben and Will....

My heart smiles at this.... Two of my favorite boys. Rob's "mini me".
I also took the kids to their very first movie in the theatre. We did the kid show at the Alamo last minute. Can you guess what was playing?

Andy had a little trouble keeping the seat down. But both kids did great. I may even take them again sometime...
Since it was the first time, they each got their very own popcorn.

Suzy has also been loving her new swim goggles.
This is Andy "swimming". He looks a bit like an aligator to me.
He insists on wearing his goggles. But this is his style. Rob says we should dress him up like "Dr. Horrible" for Halloween this year. Oh, and Suzy will be a bunny. Just so my small group is aware that I'm claiming that.... ;) Ha!

We love half price day at Kiddie Acres. Andy rode the airplanes over and over and over and...
Planes and trains.
Grammy is painting a mural on Andy's wall like Suzy. His theme is Richard Scarey's transportation.

Even toes are getting painted. Rob was mildly concerned. So, now we paint Andy's toes blue. How can I resist that sweet, "I TOO!" Granted, Rob says I could paint Suzy's toes while Andy naps. Where's the fun in that?

Summer Fun with Family

We made a quick trip up to Oklahoma to see some of my family towards the end of July. Emily (redish pink) and Mamaw (zebra) came down to visit with Laura for the weekend so we decided to drive up and spend some time with them as well. Great fun was had by all! I wish the cousins could see each other more often, but I am grateful for the times they do. :)
I love how little Anthony covers his eyes during prayer. He and Suzy are only three months apart.
Suzy loves Aunt Emmy. Probably because she plays with her so much. Here, she's teaching Suzy to flip in the water. It was great to see Suzy gain more confidence with the example of her cousins swimming so well.
At first, Emmy had to hold Suzy for the slide.
Then just hold her hand.
By the end of the day, Suzy was allowing Mamaw to catch her at the bottom. Fun!
Of my five sisters, I believe Emily and I look the most alike. When we were younger, people would sometimes ask us if we were twins. I can also see a little Andy in Anthony.
Andy decided he'd rather hang out with the snacks than in the pool.
Thanks for opening up your home, Aunt Laura (Lola). Thanks for making the big trip down from Indiana Mamaw, Emmy, and "Aunt" Mindy! Love you all!
