Sleep
Andy is a great sleeper. Always has been. It's weird. I was always so excited when Suzy finally fell asleep, I have several "sleeping baby" photos of her. With Andy, I had to grab this one through the nursery window at church. I will cut myself a little slack, however, and say that typically when Suzy slept as a baby, I had free time. When Andy sleeps, it's "Suzy time". Or, I'm just so exhausted I don't want to pick up the camera. :) Regardless, I'm glad I finally snapped this one of my sweet little boy while he was still a baby.
Suzy still battles sleep. I honestly am so into the belief that it's a kid to kid thing. I read the same books and have done the same things. New moms... don't beat yourself up. Kids are just DIFFERENT! Do your best and forgive yourself the rest. Since Suzy has difficulty sleeping, I'm a little lenient on where she is allowed to sleep. She likes "close quarters". She has slept in a tent, her toddler bed had a fort over it, her current big bed has a canopy. A few weeks ago, she enjoyed sleeping in a little cabinet in her room. It was supposed to be for toys and books. However, it made a good nest. After a three night trial, it didn't really help her morning mood. So, it has since been banned as a bed. But, it was sure funny while it was happening! I had to crack a smile when I would look at Rob after she stopped making noise at bedtime and ask who was going to crack the cabinet doors so Suzy wouldn't get too hot at night. After the first night, I actually took the doors off. I'm lenient, but I'm not crazy. I think the funniest part, though, was when she told my friend, Tara, that she was tired because she "slept in a cabinik" and Tara retold the story to me in a kids say the darnedest things fashion. I had a sheepish grin as I explained it wasn't really a tall tale. Oh, if CPS ever heard my stories.....
Suzy, you are so silly. I love you so much.
